The techniques of Gracie jiu jitsu were thrust onto the world stage in 1993 when Royce Gracie won the first Ultimate Fighting Championship using Gracie jiu jitsu self-defense techniques. Gracie defeated highly skilled martial artists who were also larger and more athletic than he was.

The Gracie Combatives program was originally developed by Rorion and Royce Gracie in the 1990s at the request of the U.S. Army Rangers. The program has been refined over the past 30 years to embody the perfect solution for new jiu jitsu students to develop effective self-defense skills in the shortest length of time possible!
